FBE worked with the Bar Harbor Conservation Commission (BHCC) to develop an Open Space Plan for the Town of Bar Harbor that included recreational spaces, working lands, wildlife habitat, scenic lands, and lands important for water protection. FBE collected existing data and relevant information on Bar Harbor's open spaces and analyzed these data to prioritize lands for protection based on factors such as land use type and supply, habitat, and accessibility. In addition, FBE developed a public input plan and outreach materials with BHCC and incorporated community input into the Open Space Plan. FBE also assisted with spatial data mapping in ArcGIS and preparation of the final report. The full Open Space Plan is available online.
